Bio

Matthias Merdes is a Senior Developer at Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH, a German software development company focusing on mobile web portals. He is responsible for software architecture and quality, as well as for shaping the agile development process. Originally a physicist, he has worked as a software developer in the areas of medical informatics, geoinformatics, and software engineering. Matthias has spoken at developer conferences and served as a reviewer for Software: Practice and Experience and the IBM Systems Journal. After more than a decade in academia and industry, he is especially interested in how to balance the quality and productivity aspects of development projects. Above all, he is still a happy programmer.
