Donavon West
Bio
Donavon West has been an independent computer consultant for the past 16 years or so. He is an expert in object-oriented JavaScript, doing little else for the past 4 years and working with it on a regular basis for the 6 years preceding that. He also excels in front-end Web 2.0 design and development and hand codes CSS, XHTML, Ajax, JSON, etc, etc, etc. He thinks of myself as a "devigner" (part developer, part designer) and understands the pitfalls and secrets of writing a cross-browser web applications on IE6/7/8, Firefox, Opera, and the WebKit based browsers (i.e., Google Chrome and Safari). He understands how to successfully cache high-traffic web applications to minimize bandwidth and maximize speed and has written an HTTP proxy in C#. He also possesses extensive back-end Oracle database design skills. Donavon is the main vendor for Microsoft when they need a gadget and need it now. He has written his own JavaScript framework and right now is rewriting jQuery from scratch "just for fun" (and because he believes that he can do it better/smaller).
